This is not medical advice and I am not a medical doctor. This website is my attempt to share some ideas on how possibly to reduce your Long COVID / Long Vax symptoms. This is what I believe has helped me personally and some other long-haulers. Be aware that individuals are highly variable in how they respond to diet changes, periodic short fasts, and supplements. This is NOT a CURE. Advice offered or implied is based on what seemed to reduce symptoms for a small number of individuals. If you have any medical issues or concerns about how this ‘Diet and Fasting’ protocol might affect them you should contact your doctor or other medical professionals. How medication levels are impacted by fasting is unknown.
While I strive to provide accurate information, be aware that information contained herein could be incorrect or dated.
CAUTIONS: Some individuals may experience very low blood sugar or hypoglycemia which can result in dizziness and difficulty communicating while fasting. If you have DIABETES, you are at increased risk for ketoacidosis while fasting or eating a low carb diet. If you are underweight, I recommend that you not fast. The safety of fasting for those with Long COVID is not yet know. It is clear that fasting and other cell stressors may strongly flare-up symptoms either during a fast or upon refeeding. The longer you fast, the greater the risk of multi-day strong flare-ups.
Please do not fast for longer than 2 days or about 47 hours. If you want to fast longer 2 days, please do so under medical supervision. Personally, I do not believe that longer fasts are needed. Try a few short fasts at weekly or bi-weekly intervals instead. Wait for any fasting induced flare-up to subside and allow multiple rest days before trying another short fast. Please start cautiously with a supper to supper fast after eating a healthy no-sugar diet for two or more weeks.
Also, please carefully review and limit your supplements during your Diet and Fasting self-experiment as there are many ways to overstress your cells!
This is NOT a dry fast, drink water or tea and stay hydrated while fasting.
For electrolytes (sodium, potassium, and magnesium), I recommend 1/2 tsp of Morton Lite Salt dissolved in a large glass of water and a 200 mg Magnesium glycinate capsule. Take your salt and magnesium twice per fasting day; once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
Please, please, please! Only try one potential treatment approach at a time!
